Order a chequebook

Overview

You may be eligible for a free chequebook if you meet certain requirements. Or, you can purchase a chequebook.

You're eligible for a free chequebook if you meet the requirement(s) below:

Chequing account type Requirement(s) for a free chequebook
Individual or joint chequing
  • have an individual or joint Wealthsimple chequing account,
  • set up direct deposit into your account, and
  • have received at least one direct deposit*.
Business chequing
  • have a Wealthsimple Business chequing account.
*Note: You must wait until a direct deposit lands in your chequing account before you see the option to order cheques.

How to order a chequebook

If you meet the requirements above, please follow these steps to order a chequebook:

  1. Log in to the Wealthsimple app
  2. Select your chequing account
  3. Scroll through the quick actions menu
  4. Tap Order cheques
  5. Tap Order a chequebook
  6. Follow the prompts
Note: You can only order a chequebook in the Wealthsimple app. You can't order one through the web experience.

Purchase a chequebook

You can purchase additional chequebooks for any chequing account for $50 plus tax. Please contact our support team to purchase a cheque book. 

The option to purchase a chequebook also applies if you have an individual or joint chequing account and don't want to set up direct deposit to receive a chequebook for free.

Note: When you receive your chequebook, please inspect these documents for accuracy. If you find an error, immediately contact our support team.

Delivery requirements

Chequebooks are delivered by Canada Post to your mailbox. 

Note: If the chequebook doesn't fit in your mailbox, Canada Post will leave a delivery notice card for pickup at the designated post office. They'll hold it for 14 days. If you miss the hold window, please contact our support team.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print my own cheques via a third party?

To protect your account and funds, we don't allow you to print your own cheques. Only cheques ordered through the methods mentioned above are accepted.

Do you offer certified bank drafts?

Will both names on the joint account appear on the cheque?

Yes, both names will be displayed.

Which address is printed on the cheques?

The cheque prints the address of the client who opened the account first.
