You may be eligible for a free chequebook if you meet certain requirements. Or, you can purchase a chequebook.
You're eligible for a free chequebook if you:
- have an individual or joint Wealthsimple chequing account,
- set up direct deposit into your account, and
- have received at least one direct deposit.
How to order a chequebook
If you meet the requirements above, please follow these steps to order a chequebook:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Select your chequing account
- Scroll through the account actions
- Tap Order Cheques
- Follow the prompts
Purchase cheques without direct deposit
If you don't want to set up direct deposit to receive a chequebook for free, you can also purchase a chequebook for $50 plus tax. Please contact our support team to purchase a cheque book.
Frequently asked questions
Can I print my own cheques via a third party?
To protect your account and funds, we don't allow you to print your own cheques. Only cheques ordered through the methods mentioned above are accepted.

I wasn't home to sign for my cheques when they were being delivered. What can I do?
UPS will hold your chequebook for 7 days at the nearest UPS store. You can pick up your chequebook from the location listed on the note they left at your door. If you miss the hold window, please contact our support team.
Will both names on the joint account appear on the cheque?
Yes, both names will be displayed.
Which address is printed on the cheques?
The cheque prints the address of the client who opened the account first.
