Find your tax return

Overview

You can find your current and previous Wealthsimple Tax returns in the Documents section of Wealthsimple Tax. You can only access your tax returns from your Wealthsimple profile on the web. They're not available in the Wealthsimple app.

Find a tax return in Wealthsimple Tax

To find a tax return:

1. Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
2. Select the Profile icon in the bottom left corner of your screen
3. Select Tax
4. Select your tax profile, if asked
5. Select Documents in the top right corner
6. Select Tax returns
7. Find the return you need in the list
8. To save a PDF of a successfully submitted return, select Download beside it. To open a tax profile for 2023 or later, select the tax year

Tax years available in Wealthsimple Tax

You can start, continue, or review a return for these tax years:

• 2025 tax return
• 2024 tax return
• 2023 tax return

Tax years no longer supported in Wealthsimple Tax

You can no longer open, edit, or file returns for the 2012–2022 tax years in Wealthsimple Tax. We notified you to download PDF copies for your records.

If you submitted your return, you may still be able to download a PDF copy. Your options depend on the tax year.

Tax returns from 2020 to 2022

You can download a PDF copy of a tax return you submitted for the 2020, 2021, or 2022 tax year. However, you can't open the tax profile to review how you entered your information. To download your return, follow the steps in Find a tax return in Wealthsimple Tax.

If you didn't submit your return, you can no longer submit it through Wealthsimple Tax. Instead, use the CRA's tax packages.

SimpleTax returns from 2017 to 2019

You may be able to download a PDF copy of a tax return for the 2017, 2018, or 2019 tax year if you originally submitted it through NETFILE using SimpleTax.

Check whether your return is available

1. Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
2. Select the Profile icon in the bottom left corner of your screen
3. Select Tax
4. Select your tax profile, if asked
5. Select Documents in the top right corner
6. Select Tax returns
7. Look for a return from 2017, 2018, or 2019 in the list
8. If you find the return you need, select Download beside it
9. Open the PDF and enter the email address and password you used with SimpleTax. If they don't work, you won't be able to access the return this way. For other options, see If you can't find your tax return

If you can't find your tax return

If the return you're looking for isn't in Documents > Tax returns, contact us and share the NETFILE confirmation number from your submitted return. We can use this number to check which Wealthsimple account is linked to the return. You can find the confirmation number on the cover page of the PDF you saved after submitting your return, or in the email titled CRA submission confirmation.

You can also find details of previously submitted returns in your CRA My Account. The CRA keeps records of all your submitted returns.
