Overview
Learn how to manage your chequing account's privacy. You'll learn how to turn on privacy mode and how to block or unblock contacts to control who can see your information and send you payments.
Turning on privacy mode
Privacy mode allows you to set your chequing account profile to private. This means that your handle, phone number, and email are hidden from anyone who is not in your contact list.
To activate privacy mode, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Wealthsimple mobile app
- Tap the Profile icon in the top right corner
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner
- Tap Login and security
- Toggle on Privacy mode at the bottom of the screen
Blocking a contact
When you sync your contacts with your chequing account, we add all your eligible contacts to your friends list. If there's a specific contact you don't want as a friend on Wealthsimple, you can block them.
Blocking a contact will:
- Remove them from your friends bar and contact list
- Hide each of you in each other’s profile
- Prevent payments and payment requests to and from each other
To block a Wealthsimple user, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Wealthsimple mobile app
- Tap the Home tab at the bottom of your screen
- Select your Chequing account
- Select either Request
- Choose Wealthsimple
- Scroll down to your desired contact
- Select the contact
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner
- Select Block
- Tap Block again to block the user
Unblocking a user
To unblock a Wealthsimple user, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Wealthsimple mobile app
- Tap the Profile icon at the top-right of your screen
- Tap Login and security
- Select Blocked accounts
- Tap the account you wish to unblock and confirm
