Before you call, it's helpful to know which option is the best fit for your situation.

-
Emergency Card Replacement (ECR): If you need a physical card, you can request an emergency replacement. You'll receive a temporary, chip-and-signature card that is active for 3 months.
- Once we approve your request, we'll aim to get this card to you within 24 hours if you're within Canada, and within 1 business day if you're outside of Canada.

How to request an Emergency Card Replacement (ECR)
To request an emergency card replacement, please contact our support team.
When you call, our team will verify your identity and walk you through the process. Here's what you should know about the emergency card:
- Cost: There are no additional costs for an ECR.
- Card type: The emergency card is temporary and only active for 3 months. It's a chip-and-signature card, not chip-and-PIN, which means you'll need to sign for purchases.
- Activation: You must call us to activate the emergency card once you receive it.
- When you get home: Because the card is temporary, you must call us again when you return from your travels to get a new, permanent card issued.
How to request an Emergency Cash Disbursement (ECD)
To request an ECD, please contact our support team.
Our team will verify your identity and your available credit. Here's what you should know about getting emergency cash:
- Limit: You can request up to $500 CAD.
- Available credit: The amount you request will be charged to your card as a cash advance, so you must have a sufficient available cash advance limit.
- Cost: There are foreign exchange costs associated with the ECD. We can reimburse you for these costs after your trip. To do so, please contact our support team.
