If you're asked to manually verify your identity, you'll need to submit documents to our team. This usually happens if our automatic verification process can't confirm your identity.
How to manually verify your identity
- Start the identity verification process.
- When prompted to upload documents, select I don't have these documents.
- You'll then be asked to submit 1-3 documents from the categories below.
- Upload clear pictures or unaltered PDFs of your chosen documents.
Documents we accept
We'll need 1-3 documents from the three categories below to manually verify your identity. Make sure your documents are accepted before you upload them.
Non-Canadian photo ID

a clear picture of a foreign passport

a clear picture of a Canadian health/services card

a clear picture of a USA driver’s license
Proof of name and date of birth or Canadian financial document

a clear picture of a Canadian marriage certificate

a credit card statement (must be an unaltered PDF, include all pages, and have a matching address)

Proof of name and address

A Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Issued Record of Employment (must be an unaltered PDF and include all pages)

ACRA Issued Notice of Assessment (must be an unaltered PDF and include all pages)

An original and unaltered T4 slip downloaded from an employer (must be PDF)

An original and unaltered PDF download of a Canadian utility bill (e.g. phone, internet, cable, water, gas)
